Have You Heard?

THE hottest attraction in Topeka right now is on Washburn's campus. That's right. The new Art of the Brick exhibit is at the Mulvane Art Museum from now until September 18. The Ichablogger and her mini-Bods 1 & 2 have been twice now. Below are a few pictures of some of the pieces in the exhibit. The pictures don't do them justice. They are. A. MAZE. ING.

If you were lucky (like us) and went before it officially opened (like us),
you would have been able to meet the artist, Nathan Sawaya, in person.

You ever just have one of THOSE days?

This one reminds of Tron Legacy for
some reason.

See the expressions? It's like, red-dang it! Yellow-hrmmmm. And green--yessss!

He even included Pluto and counted it as one of the planets in our solar system.

Can you see the face? See it?

Can you see the eye? How about the individual bodies?

Exactly.

Wouldn't it be great if we could really do this?
And then snap on one that was different?

As if the exhibit alone wasn't enough, you can take your kiddos downstairs to the ArtLab and create your own Lego masterpiece. I'm not gonna lie, I have a hard time deciding which part was more fun for the Ichablogger. Seeing the Lego sculptures or making some of my own with mini-Bods 1 & 2.

You can mosey on over to the other side of the ArtLab and get your hands on all kinds of medium to create other masterpieces. Want to write on walls? Check.
Want to paint? Check.
Want to build something with recycled items. Check.
You can also sign your own mini-Bods (as well as yourself) up for any number of classes offered there throughout the year.
Bottom line, if you're looking for a great reason to get back to campus, now is the perfect time. I'll be as bold to say that most of you haven't been back in years and what you'll see will only resemble the old WU campus that you remember. You will be blown away.

Happy New Year!

Hello Ichabods! I hope your holidays were happy. The Alumni Association rang in the new year with a reception in the McPherson Booster Room during the Ichabods and Laby Blues basketball games against Central Missouri. Both the men's and women's teams walked away with W's! The turnout was great and we just might be looking at a New Year's Eve tradition. Hope to see everyone at the After Hours this Friday.

Heeeeeyyyy! NOW it's a party!

Stacey Calhoon and kids.

Our room with a view.
Just a view.
Hello, sound people?
Yes, I'd like to order a live feed from the P.A. system into the McPherson Booster Room. You know? So it feels like I'm really at the game?
Thank you. No...I don't want any cheese with that. Thaaaanks.
