Click on the link to see more photos from the finish line at this year's Washburn Alumni Association's Fun Run.  It was a beautiful day and perfect for running.  A special congratulations to finisher's Ernie Webb, WAA Media Specialist and John Haverty (#35), WAA board member.  Way to go guys!

Have You Heard?

THE hottest attraction in Topeka right now is on Washburn's campus. That's right. The new Art of the Brick exhibit is at the Mulvane Art Museum from now until September 18. The Ichablogger and her mini-Bods 1 & 2 have been twice now. Below are a few pictures of some of the pieces in the exhibit. The pictures don't do them justice. They are. A. MAZE. ING.

If you were lucky (like us) and went before it officially opened (like us),
you would have been able to meet the artist, Nathan Sawaya, in person.

You ever just have one of THOSE days?

This one reminds of Tron Legacy for
some reason.

See the expressions? It's like, red-dang it! Yellow-hrmmmm. And green--yessss!

He even included Pluto and counted it as one of the planets in our solar system.

Can you see the face? See it?

Can you see the eye? How about the individual bodies?

Exactly.

Wouldn't it be great if we could really do this?
And then snap on one that was different?

As if the exhibit alone wasn't enough, you can take your kiddos downstairs to the ArtLab and create your own Lego masterpiece. I'm not gonna lie, I have a hard time deciding which part was more fun for the Ichablogger. Seeing the Lego sculptures or making some of my own with mini-Bods 1 & 2.

You can mosey on over to the other side of the ArtLab and get your hands on all kinds of medium to create other masterpieces. Want to write on walls? Check.
Want to paint? Check.
Want to build something with recycled items. Check.
You can also sign your own mini-Bods (as well as yourself) up for any number of classes offered there throughout the year.
Bottom line, if you're looking for a great reason to get back to campus, now is the perfect time. I'll be as bold to say that most of you haven't been back in years and what you'll see will only resemble the old WU campus that you remember. You will be blown away.
