BODS IN THE SUPER BOWL!!!

Alumni Top Banner

If you haven't already heard the news, two Washburn alumni will be playing in this Sunday's Super Bowl ... or as we're calling it here on campus, the "WUper Bowl."

Be on the look out for Baltimore's #29, Carey Williams, ba '08, and San Francisco's #57, Michael Wilhoite, ba '10.
Needless to say, we're so proud of these two Ichabods.  They are the first in school history to play in a Super Bowl.  Here's a link to a nice article about both players:

ESPN is obviously intrigued by the fact that Washburn has two alumni playing in the Super Bowl.  Consequently, ESPN is bringing SportsCenter to campus this weekend.  If you live close to campus and want to be part of the excitement, come out and show your Ichabod pride.  Here are the details:
SATURDAY - Be at the Lady Blues and Ichabods basketball games on Saturday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Lee Arena.  An ESPN crew will interview Washburn President Jerry Farley and fans for coverage related to our two Ichabods who will play in the Super Bowl.
SUNDAY - At 7 a.m., ESPN SportsCenter will do a LIVE interview from Yager Stadium at Moore Bowl with Washburn Football Coach Craig Schurig.  We need LOTS of people to be there making noise for the Ichabods.  Enter through the southeast entrance of the stadium BEFORE 7 a.m. to be ready in the south end zone.
